Found a carb today O_o

I was cleanin around in my gramps' garage and i seen a box behind a bunch of bottles of antifreeze and such that caught my eye 'cause of the word holley. I got it out and there was a yellow box that said "Economaster, An Economy Carburetor By Holley"... I opened it up and there sat a 2bbl holley... Looks like it was rebuilt and cleaned up then sat in the box
I asked my Mom and she said that it was most likely from my sisters Camaro or my dads Trans Am, more than likely the Camaro. It even says it has adapters for cruise O_o. I'll get more pictures asap

Oh, yes, there were a few Camaros with 2 bbls. You have to remember that not all Camaros had big blocks and were SS models. I even had a Forest green 69 with poverty caps on 14" wheels. I bought in the early nineties with a factory installed 250 6 cylinder and powerglide. That one had a 1 barrel monojet. It was one of the cleanest Camaros I ever saw. We swapped a 71 LS5 454/ TH400 (COPO clone look as the 454 was stock looking, no external speed parts like headers or aftermarket intake) into it, then later sold it along w/ the original 6 cylinder. I wish I still had that one...

Re: Found a carb today O_o

4 barrel carbs got to be scarce in the mid-70's. More trucks than cars had them, but the Arab oil embargo in late '72-73, found the automotive manufacturers under the gun from the 'Gummit' to find a way to reduce our dependency on foreign oil (go figure). By 1975, economy was the catch-phrase. Anything that hyped that topic got the nod. What I remember is that what I drove got the best mileage that I could manage...2bbl or 4bbl or 1bbl. In fact, I sold my VW bug in January, 1973, for more than I owed on it and with a ton of miles on it, and bought a '56 Chevy wagon with a 265/stick.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

might be a 500cfm version, could be a great carb for a mild 350!
