Got a little snow in North Idaho

This is what my 72 3/4 ton GMC 4x4 looked like about an hour ago. All this snow fell in just over 24 hours. The old 71 Blazer got me to work this morning only to be called home because daycare is closed and the wife had to get to work. Her faithful 72 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban had no problem making her 8 mile trip to work. Gotta love these old trucks, they get the job done with no complaints!!!!! Still snowing but seems to be lightening up.

Dang, that IS a lot of snow. Coeur d’Alene/Spoke area is beautiful even without the snow.

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

We have that much down here in Walla Walla... and that is saying something, wally world is lucky to get a day or two a year with snow on the ground anymore, and not nearly this much. My truck looked similar before I knocked it all off.

I just got done laying out under my '67 K20 fixing the tail light wiring and took her down to get some fuel... damn I need some tires... bald 31s just don't cut it (working wipers and the passenger side defroster hose would help too.. ).

The snow on the hood is above the roof.Yeah, you got a little. How much do you figure?Looks like a good 3'.
You are right. There`s nothing better than wading out through hip deep snow,shoveling/brooming off all that snow, hopping in the 35-40 year old truck, firing it up,and headin`on down the road.I love everything about it:quiet muffled sound, the cozy feeling inside the cab, exhaust note always sounds better, and it just feels like a work horse or hunting dog that lives to perform.I love seeing all the $40-50,000 SUV owners struggling while the old truck pushes on.It just doen`t get any better than that.

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

My daughter lives in Coeur d'Alene. Great place. We try and get there every year. She is coming to California for Christmas and is looking forward to getting away from the snow as she is stuck inside with two small kids!

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

Life would be better driving my K if the previous owner had bothered to hook the Electric Choke up on the carb Oh, and I loafed down the 31s, maybe that will cut the jarring ride (they were well over 30-lbs).

That is a dream snow to me - I love snow, but we just don't get much here. Pretty amazing that fell in 24 hours!

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

We got a little down here in Boise too, I have about 4" accumulation in the yard, supposed to be more on the way. I wish my 59 4WD was running, I miss playing in the deeper stuff in the mountains...

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area had the 2nd snowiest winter (total) last year. Two days ago Spokane set a new 24 hour record of (I think) over 20". I live 2 miles from downtown Spokane & I have almost 4 feet! In my yard right now. I cant even see my car. Not to mention I work in an Auto Parts store where we sold our last 150 sets of tire chains in 5 hours!

Word is there is more snow on the way. If I can get off work I will get some good pix for sure!

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

We got about 6 inches here with another 4-6 supposed to be here tomorrow. I thought 6 inches was bad enough but WOW! BTW you're more than welcome to keep it up there.

Re: Got a little snow in North Idaho

It's times like this that I really wish I had one of my 4X's running. I'll have one for next winter......then we probably won't get any snow. I think we have about 36" on the ground right now, plus it's snowing again ......and the wind's blowing some.

INSANITY!!!!!!!! I lost count of how many cars I pulled out yesterday. I even tried to help a big rig today........no chance. It took two wreckers.
