What A/T Tire Can I fit on 15" x 6" Steelies?

I'm trying to figure out what tire I can fit on my stock steel wheels...Was probably just going to get a set of BFG All Terrains....their website states that the recommended tire would be a 235 series which is about 9" wide & 29" in diameter....But I also seen on a jeep forum where those guys are running up to 31" x 10.5" on a 6" wide wheel....

My truck is 1" over stock height by way of Zero Rate add-a-leafs....I would like to keep the stock wheels and stock look but I don't want a midget tire in there either...

My preference would be to run a 30" x 9.5"....do you think that would be OK on the stock 15" x 6" steelies?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Dan

Interco has a 34/9.50-15LT that fits a skinny rim. It is 33.80 tall with a 9.50 section width and 8" tread patch. Might be something you like. What gears you got?

You should be fine with 30X9.50s on the 6 inch wide wheels.

You didn`t mention what diameter wheel.A 235/75 x 16 is as tall as those other sizes shown, about 31".I think a 10" tire should be on at least a 7" rim.I run 255/85s,which BFG makes in the A/T.They are a good 33" tall.Is it width or height you mostly want?

72Levi has 31/10.50 BFG AT's on his stock rims. They're fine. Do a search and you'll see what his looks like, i've seen it in person numerous times and it looks good to me.
