Anybody with a "Russet" colored truck??

I picked up an 87 2wd couple months ago. Factory paint color is russert. Looks like a copper color, with a chocolate/brown interior. According to paint books, only 86 and 87 got this color. The paint is faded in spots, repainted in others, and looking at the two, the old paint looks more of a brown. I need to get some pics of it, in the process of changing it from a 1/2 2wd to a 3/4 4wd with a 89-91 front grille. Got a visor, hopefully this weekend it will get a cowl hood....

Search for member crawdadfox and look through his posts. He has some pics of his old 87 on here somewhere . I am pretty sure it is what you are looking for . It is the truck in his avatar . He has a post on page 2 right now about his 77 with a porterbuilt dropmember and 22's .

Re: Anybody with a "Russert" colored truck??

Yeah that looks to be the color. Mine has white down the side, trying to get an idea of a solid color. Mine in a long box, but at least I have an idea. Trying to figure if I want to keep it two-tone, or a solid color like that one....

Ah sunset orange... Very nice color, russert looks nice too for a slightly different shade.

Re: Anybody with a "Russert" colored truck??

I'm building a clod buster that I painted with the russet color. Maybe cause it's primered under, it looks brighter than what's on the truck. Then again, the trucks paint is mostly original. When I get it done, havta post some pics of the clod with a cowl hood and a visor. Sometimes I think I have too much time on my hands....
