I6 to V8 swap questions...

I am fixing to pull my blown 250 from my 77 shortbed work truck and replace it with a 350. I want to keep the original 3spd manual trans. Can I use the flywheel from the 250 on the 350? Or do I need to get a v8 flywheel.. The flywheel, clutch and pressure plate isnt that old so I was just going to use it if I can. thanks! also I am guessing the rearend has some pretty low gears because of the six, what gear goes good with a 350, 3 on the tree??? Dont really care about MPG, just want to be able to pull a small trailer and go 70mph if need be.

I am not positive about the 250 but I have done some 235 to V-8 swaps and they required new bell housing, clutch, flywheel , starter, and motor mounts.

Re: I6 to V8 swap questions...

drops right in. On the motor mount it will be stamped "6" and "8",just move the clam shell to the right position and drop in the engine. You can use the flywheel, clutch and all. good luck.
