Sat pics (12-20) Yep, The weather sucks here too!

Hello again! I know some of you guys have been getting some bad weather...it isn't much better here either. It's rained just about every day since last Sunday night. I heard a weatherman state this past week that we've had 300% more rain this month than normal...and that was three days ago. I didn't post any Sat pics last week....I haven't felt well and I didn't have anything aside from some pics of Christy's 54 (it was the first saturday I missed since Aug of 2007). I did get out today to go put up one of my grandmothers Christmas tree. After I finished there I waded over to Rome to pick up my other grandmother and take her out to lunch. After I dropped her off I did take a couple minutes to shoot a couple pictures for you guys. Just wanted to show that it's far from a pampered garage queen. Hope you like em.

I told you that it's been raining a lot...

More work on the 54.

Brian found us a ...ahem, "Source", that was more than willing to help us out building her a new cluster.

Re: Sat pics (12-20) Yep, The weather sucks here too!

Thanks guys! I had been posting pics of the cruise ins and shows that we had been hitting on Saturday nights for about three weeks before I started calling them "Sat Pics". I just kinda made it my goal to see if I could go a year without missing a week. I managed to make it just a tad over fourteen months without missing one. Sometimes I look back through them and I can see how poor the quality was way back in the begining. Some of you guys were more than generous in saying that they looked good. But that's OK, It's been fun for the most part. I have managed to see a few of them hit print and there are supposedly some more coming to the stands as well. Since next week is the last Saturday of the year I'll probably do the same thing I did last year. I went through my "Sat pics" posts and tried to pick one photo from each thread that I liked the best. Kinda a "best of" thread if you will. I encouraged anyone that remembered one that they liked better to post it up and I'll do the same again this year. So...You've got a week to look back through fifty threads to find which ones you like the best! I on the other hand probably wont even start looking back through them until next Saturday night....I'm lazy like that.

On a side note...That water was considerably deeper than I realized! But once I had pulled in it there wasn't any sense in wussing out at that point.

I also know what you guys mean by not wanting to get them dirty. My K10 is so much nicer than this C10 is and that probably has a lot to do with why I drive it less. Once you've been under em wiping down the frame it's kinda hard to pull em out on a wet road if you don't have to. Christy and I have six cars and we live less than a mile away from where we work. We kinda have to make an effort to get em out and put the miles on them. This truck was bought to be a driver...and it gets driven. I've moved furniture in it, hauled steel, taken garbage to the dump, brought home a washer and dryer, hauled transmissions and engines...just about anything really. Yeah, I try not to skin it up, but I do use it. My wife drove this truck to college, she drove it to work (when she still worked 30 miles away), it goes to the mall and the grocery store. Sure, we're careful where we park it, but I love driving it.

Thanks again guys!!

Great pics see ten! That water shot had me a little worried, but definitely turned out to be a neat shot. Hopefully you didn't have to stop by the store after the shot and pick up some new shoes, tenny's that is.

Re: Sat pics (12-20) Yep, The weather sucks here too!

I love how you use your truck as a driver, but still try to keep as nice as possible. That's exactly what I do with my red '69 now, and will continue to do so after I get it repainted. In the last several months, I've bought a new grill, new side trim, new tailgate trim and tailgate band, a re-upholstered seat, dash bezels, headliner and door panels, a Custom Autosound stereo, a Vintage A/C kit, dent-free and rust-free pass fender and hood, a new windshield, and I hope to have it painted in the summer. I still plan on driving it almost daily and using it a truck.

I do have a question. What are you doing as far the bed floor? Do you have a spray-in bedliner, drop-in liner or a mat? I'm trying to decide which way to go on that on mine. My bed floor is very solid, but has has had enough weight at some point to be able to see some dents and indentions around the supports, so it will never be one that I'd paint and try to make look nice. I'm thinking about having a spray-in liner tinted red to match the truck and maybe still using a rubber mat on the floor to kinda camo the dents.
