Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
At some point I will be restoring a 1970 C-20 Longbed pickup. It has the woodgrain lower moulding and I was wondering the availability of NOS pieces. To maybe make it tougher-it has the toolbox in side of bed that takes a different moulding. Can all of this be found NOS? Can I purchase piece by piece as I might find it and expect the graining to match in color or are there variences in it? What can I expect to pay? Just getting some ideas and want to start collecting parts... Thanks!!

Re: Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
If you stick with the GM pieces, it should match up pretty well. You can still find some pieces around here and e-bay. (a couple of pieces on the board right now) As far as price, SPENDY! I would guess any where from $30 to $75 per piece.

Re: Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
Just to give you an idea there was a Complete set of longbed upper and lower woodgrain moldings on here for $1000 about a month ago. The 3 pieces for the toolbox are going to be tough but they are out there.

Re: Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
The repops run over $500.00 IIRC.Expect the N.O.S. to run double that. Also if you are planning on doing it this decade start looking.there's not a "lot" of it around.

Re: Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
I've heard good things about Mar-K's parts. They're even made in the US. Probably a little more than cheaper repops, but the quality is supposed to be good. They even got the sets if you've got the toolbox. Their stuff is the way I'm going when I get to that point.

Also....is this a show truck or a driver. If it's a driver and to spend $1000 and watch someone hit you with their door doesn't make a lot of sense...then again I have spent $$$ on the Circuit Rider that some might say it doesn't make sense. Good Luck.

Re: Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
It`s always possible that it`s all out there. But,there`s no N.O.S. store to go run to.It`s all about collecting.I sold a longbed upper and lower set for $1,200 last year. But,that wasn`t for a tool & stowage door. Those three pieces in N.O.S. would be a valuable few pieces.Check what they cost in repro and figure 3x that.

Re: Woodgrain moulding NOS availability
A few things to consider before you buy new trim.
It isn't difficult to repair your trim. It is time consuming though. Check out this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=330642 3M still makes DI-NOC woodgrain adhesive backed vinyl. I don't know if you'll find an exact match but I think they'll send sample if you find a few that you think are close. Check out: http://dinocfilm.com/
