spindles?

i have a 66 swb that has been converted to power steering power disk breaks and 5 lug and im pretty sure that they used a 80s front crossmember but how do i know what drop spindles to order is their a diff between the 80s and like a 72? any help on figuring out what i have will help....thanks

The 72 and the later spindles are different, The upper ball joint on the 72 is different.

Look at your control arms, if the bushings are pressed in rubber bushings, you can be confident that it is a 73-87 crossmember. If the bushings are the screw in metal ones, you have a 71-72 swap.

Buy spindles as appropriate. Worst, case, you buy spindles and have to change the upper ball joint to match the year of the spindles.

is the upper ball joint the only one that needs changing in the drum to disk swap or is it disc spindles 72 to 73?

71-87 uses the same lower ball joint.
71-72 uses one upper ball joint.
73-87 uses different upper ball joint.

Neither of the 70 and earlier ball joints will work with disc spindles.

ok im 99 percent sure its a 73+ so i will just order thos then and if i need to change something i will work around the spindles

exactly what he said.... worst case scenario you will have to do a ball joint swap.... which it probably needs new ball joints for it anyway. If so... just test fit the new joints into the NEW spindles before they are pressed into your arms
