Re: Went Mud Bogging

Your truck looks great muddy.Must have been a great time, always is right? What will it take to get that driveshaft in there? That would drive me crazy not being able to do what that truck is capable of.

Re: Went Mud Bogging

I love it! Glad to see you where smart enough to think ahead and have a tow vehicle ready.

I'm with special K it would drive me crazy not to be able to put it in 4 wheel drive. Wait a minute it did drive me crazy.
After I installed a 14 bolt rear in my '71 3/4 ton the gear ratio was wrong. I drove it for over a year that way until I sold it
(wife was crying when the new buyer drove off in it).

Gotta pay to play, going big doesn't just mean the size of the truck.

Who did you contact for the D-shaft?
That does sound high, I had a 1-ton front shaft built with a 12" slip and all the goodies for 750.00 not to long ago.

I talked with Jesse at High Angle. He quoted me $900 for a 1 ton 42 cv d-shaft. If you know someone that can do it for less let me know.

I would have to agree.

Where I live it is "real clay". It is the nastiest stickiest mud I have ever seen.
You don't sink down very deep but it is hard to get any traction on it. Basically it is a dry lake bed.

Re: Went Mud Bogging

you know i have to say I enjoy this forum and all its members. Pirate 4x4 has a bunch of dicks. You guys actually enjoy threads for what they are intended to be about, P4x4 all they did was moan and complain about how stupid i was to go 4 wheeling w/o a front drive shaft.
So Thank you!

Re: Went Mud Bogging

It's all about having fun - here and out on the trail. It's not like you were out there alone and could have risked your life if you got stuck and didn't have a front driveshaft or winch. Now if you where 20 miles back in the mountains you'd get some polite suggestions from us not to do that again without a front driveshaft.
