Cupholder/Console Ideas w/ a Bench

I like the bench seat but I sure could use some cup holders. Has anyone done anything that would work with the bench seat as far as adding a console or cup holders?

I ordered one of these ($49.95) from LMC and it works great for me.
Well built and sturdy, cup holders hold most cups.

Re: Cupholder/Console Ideas w/ a Bench

I built a box that went between the seat and the dash on the floor. It had 2 large cup holders.. large enough to hold a 1liter Gatorage bottle each. It also held 5 switches and my CB. it wasnt all that pretty, but I wrapped the sides in brown astroturf so it was durable and matched my interior fairly well. Dont think I have a pic anywhere though. There was also enough room that I would have mounted 2 6x9" speakers in sides. (1 each side).
The "console" was just shy of being as high as the seat.

I'm looking to see some that people have made to sit on the floor. I want my Honey to sit next to me.

Newer trucks with buckets and a center seat have a cup holder attached to the lower front edge of the center seat. You might be able to attach a cup holder the frame of the seat in a similar fashion.

Re: Cupholder/Console Ideas w/ a Bench

Hey grinch, did you make that? Looks good!

I'm in the same boat. I would love to put buckets in my upcoming rebuild, but it's just not an option right now.

My grandson (just turned two) absolutely loves my truck. He spends about three days a week with my wife and I (we help raise him). When he comes over, the first thing he says is "paw paw's truck?" which means he wants to go out and sit in the truck and play with the steering wheel!

As much as I want buckets, I've opted to not get them, so that we have a place for him to ride in the truck when it's finished. Never in a million years thought I'd let a two year old stand in the way of what I wanted, but I love him to death and he loves that truck, so we gotta have a place for his toddler car seat!

a hole with a cover, console storage. it started life as a cop center console that I hacked and cut till it fit my truck. left over material from the interior to cover it. It works great-holds a can of soda or a cup of coffee and stuff in the hole. extends to bottom of dash
