Something doesnt look right
My 79 has the hood latch that NON cable.
I scored a cable and latch ass. So I need to get this (cable latch ass.) [IMG][/IMG] Into [IMG][/IMG] Im guessing that I have to swap out the grill plate? Also where on the fire wall does the cable go through?

Re: Something doesnt look right
mine just goes over the driver side tirewell
then through a hole on the top crease then straight across the top to the latch.. not sure if it's right but it works well..

Re: Something doesnt look right
It will require some modding to make it work for sure

Re: Something doesnt look right
So I could cut the slot for the safety latch and nut plate it in? Run the cable through the fire wall,, ( but where) on the fire wall?
The bolt holes are only like 1/2 - 3/4" off, the latch with the cable is just a weeee bit wider the the latch with out the cable. Also I was wondering about the height? would it be the same or would I have a safety latch poking through my freshly painted primed hood???
