Newb (with pics this time)
Hey guys, I posted about me, the newb, and my 1969 CST/20 but I hade no camera with which to take photos. So guess what I got this x mas. A camera. So here are a slew of pics of the ride and the engine I am building for it. THe project is on X-mas hold. Next are the heads, they have to go to the shop. Enjoy.
California truck, bought it from the original owner. Safely off the street and out of the clutches of parking enforcement. That seat had been recovered shortly before I bought it. And I love the blue. Can someone tell me the correct meaning of this CST acronym? I've heard too many variations. This is the motor that will get replaced, as you can tell there is oil eveywhere, so much, the exhaust manifold can't burn it off fast enough. The piston rings are also shot, when this thing runs, it smokes like a forest fire. The day after Christmas. Bottom end slathered in assy lube. I just gotta get that damn car outta the garage |

Re: Newb (with pics this time)
Nice truck! The emblem means "custom sport truck, 20 series" (C20), and the 8 means V8 350. That new motor looks good! but we dont want to know about your "assy lube"

1st, .. to the board. Second, congrats on the new camera, and third, nice 69 Longhorn.... CST means Custom Sport Truck. I think it was a optional dress up package but I don't know what all it included. Someone that knows will chime in I'm sure... LockDoc

Re: Newb (with pics this time)
You do realize that your truck is a Longhorn right ? Way more rare and valuable than a normal truck.

Re: Newb (with pics this time)
Thanks guys. Hmm its a Long horn and more valuable, awesome, Thanks! Is it a long horn because of the CST package or the 6 inches added to the front of the bed? Its also got 3 gas tanks.

Re: Newb (with pics this time)
the extra at the front of the bed make it a longhorn...

Originally it should have had these emblems on the side of the box back by the tail lights. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...light=longhorn Here is a good thread on the Longhorns. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...nghorn+emblems LockDoc

Re: Newb (with pics this time)
I'll see if there are some rivet holes for the longhorn badges. I'll keep posting pics for everything I do to the truck and keep you guys updated.
