Need some transmission advice...

I'm replacing the previous owner's 396 in my newly acquired '69 SWB with an 04 LQ9 that' drive by wire. I had originally planned on re-using the TH400, but it turns out he was running a 700R4.
There is no way to hook up the TV cable on an electronic throtte body...so my options are...

1) Sell my electronic pedal assembly, buy a cable driven throttle body and LS1 TV hook up kit
2) Sell the 700R4 and 396 as a package, use money to buy a 4L80 and maybe a new driveshaft
3) Fab up some TV system that hooks to the electronic pedal and reuse the 700r4

I am working on a budget of course. If money wasn't an issue I'd have a 6L80 in there now, but if you guys think I recoup the cost of a 4l80 and driveshaft with the sale of my 396/700r4 combo, then I might go that route.

What do you think?

Re: Need some transmission advice...

Do a search on the net - someone is making a constant pressure switch or valve body for the 700R4
I would also do a search in google with your question - I would think many street rods are fly by wire today and using the 700R4

Re: Need some transmission advice...

I would sell or trade the DBW throttle body and wiring harness (LS1tech) and pick up a DBC set. Add the bowtieoverdrives LS1 TV kit and you're set. The only cost should be the TV kit.

Downsides. If you were planning on running cruise control it will be a little harder with DBC, and you need a VSS signal for the ECM I believe.

I have been thinking about using a 700R4 with a cable driven speedo for my swap so I could keep the stock guages. Jagsthatrun.com has a VSS converter that goes in line with the speedo cable for $60.

EDIT: You probably know, but you will need a flywheel spacer and bolts for the 700R4 but these can be had for around $40.
