Pics of a short bed 72 with 15" wheels and a 2.5/4 drop??

Ive searched all over the forum and cant find any pics. Anyone got any? Im wrestling with putting 15" Crager SS wheels on my 72 but dont know how it will look with a 2.5/4 drop verses a 3.5/5 or 6. Thanks

The lowest you can go without worrying about speed bumps is about 3/5 or 4/6.

Heres a picture of my 72, 2.5 drop spindles with 2inch lowering springs in front 4inch lowering springs in back.I know not a good picture. Also a picture of my buddies 71 red and white with the same drop.... I had this same drop on my 71 and rarely had any problems with Speed Bumps and that was with Long tube headers.......It's Not like we plan on speeding through the bumps any how..

BKS,

Here's a side shot. Never had any problems with clearance other than loading onto a non-dovetail trailer. I daily drove it just like this for 5-6 years.

Re: Pics of a short bed 72 with 15" wheels and a 2.5/4 drop??

A 3 x 5 drop is sweet for a daily driver. Low enough to look nice but not low enough to always be bottoming out on speed bumps, pot holes and dips in the road.

I had a 5 1/2" drop (2 1/2" spindles & 3" drop springs) on my '71 with Chevelle station wagon springs in the back. My a-arms were about 3" from the blacktop. The rear end would bottom out on most any bump (use aftermarket springs and you should be okay. The wagon springs were a little weak for my truck). My Saturday morning ritual was dropping the pipes from the headers, heating and straighting the flange, replacing the gaskets and bolting it all back together. Not to mention bending both a-arms.

Have any of you done a 4" drop on a leaf spring rear end? Has anyone used a flip kit on one of these trucks? Thanks.

I have a 3.5/5 drop and I've never had a problem with speed bumps or potholes. My wheels are 15x8's with 255/60/15 front and 275/60/15 rear tires.
