I would just shave it, my opinion it would look better that way.

You may or may not want to do this. I wanted to retain the stock look and the option of going back to a cab tank so what I did was cut part of the filler neck off a old gas tank and then just put it into hole and put my exsisting cap on it. It is held in by the rubber gasket. It still gives it the stock look of having a tank but yet there is no tank behind it.

If you really want it to go away for good, just cut a piece from the same profile of the passengers side of a donor cab and weld it in.

If you deceided to go with Maximum Overdrive's idea I would add just one thing. You need to put some sort of plug or cap on the inside to prevent the possabilty of someone every filling the inside if your truck with gas.

Hehe! 100 mph tape(duct tape applied to vehicles). A few yrs back, I saw two guys runnin a BB powered nova @ Cordova Drag strip. They blew the glass hood off......got out the duct tape, taped that baby back on,& ran it some more! The announcer gets on the PA,& says"looks like they are gonna run some more......they got the 100mph tape".....69 longhorn.

I want to move the filler behind one of the marker lights too, but I want to keep the filler neck and the cap in the cab position. I'll just secure it from the inside somehow. I love the idea of driving some gas jockey nuts trying to open a cap that's bolted shut!
