Front air bag plate question.

Ive lurked for a while on this site, and am starting a frame off build in a month or so. Id like to do air ride on it but dont have the money to spend on new A-arms or the experience to put cups in the upper arms.
I found an ebay ad that has upper and lower plates that bolt on to the a-arms. Is this a good solution? Maybe if they were welded on? Would I get as much lift/drop?
I am in no way affiliated with the seller, this is a legit question and I know this is my first post. This is a serious question and NOT spam for the product,
The add is here:

Thanks for your time and help

Re: Front air bag plate question.

the top plate would not bolt to the arm but rather your cross member, they are a good solution and i wouldnt worry too much about welding them in my uppers have been bolted in for 2 years now with no problems i cant say for the lowers tho as im running cups, so to answer your question yes that is a good solution, and i believe a board member was selling these as well?? someone correct me if im wrong here

I heard on one occasion from C-10forum. someone had sold and referred the upper and lower plates. Dont know if that lower plate looked like that, but the upper plate looks like my '77. hope that helps. but ya, alot of people bolt em up

Re: Front air bag plate question.

You don't want to weld on the uppers as that's how you access the fitting and bag mounting bolts.

Re: Front air bag plate question.

I believe all the lower cup does is raise the bottom of the lower arm up, to make the entire lower arm the same height and keeps the bag from rubbing any of the lower arm. If this is true then bolting the plate to the lower arm would do the same thing. I'm sure if i'm wrong someone will correct me.

Hey Skidz.

donut: The lower plate gives the air spring a flat area to mount to.Static lower arm spring pockets will make contact w/some bags. This is a typical plate kit for stock arms.Should be fine.

Also:: do not weld upper plate,as previously stated.
