I bought a Flaming River column. They are pretty much the same I think. I think that with the flaming river column, you can have the steering wheel closer to the dash. I think. Anyways I am happy with the column. It is a shift column and works alright. I used the lokar linkage kit and need to do some work on it. I got the paintable column, so I don't know about the polished one. I will include a couple pictures.

Low68, man I love your truck. I think I saw a picture of it reassembled, if so, take it back apart and run it like the 2nd picture only with doors and a bench. It'd look tuff. lol. But seriously nice truck. Is it a tilt column? What kind of steering wheels could you put on it? Can you get some more pictures of the truck and post them? Thanks
Brandon

Sorry guys, I lost track of this post.
Thanks for all the compliments.

Bra-Bra-
I had the bed off for a couple of months. People that drove the fancy lexus cars gave me dirty looks It is a tilt column. If you go to my website, I just updated it with some pics a couple of days ago. You can fit just about any steering wheel on it (I THINK). I have a billet specialties wheel on it. I am planning on taking some more pics soon and updating my web page again. Just keep checking back.

For everybody else,

The paint is ppg dodge intense blue. It is a base coat clear coat.
The seat is a steel horse bench seat. The brackets that they sell for it are crap. I had to do a lot of elongating of the holes to get them to fit. If i did it again, I might try making my own. I am somewhat happy with the seat, but the "leather" quality is bad. And if you read the fine print, only the seating surface and possibly the back surface are leather. The rest is imitation. I would probably go with one out of a newer truck next time, but when I checked around(which I didn't do much of), it was three times as much for the newer truck seats. Any ways, the seats are all right. They are a Huge improvement over the stock seat.

yeah i checked at the dealership and the middle seat from a tahoe was i think $2000. thats not happenin. how about the functionality of the seats like the recline, the sliding, the fold up armrest, the compartment under the middle seat and the headrest? because its so hard to find a new seat with all those features at that price, i might just forget the leather, buy velour and rig up my own brackets.

The seat funtions work pretty good. They are pretty smooth. I never use the slider though. The recline is really nice to have. I personally think that the armrest is too low. You have to lean over to have your arm on it. Mabye it just me though. The middle seat isn't that comfortable, but it doesn't matter to me! I drive. The headrests are nice but if you put a lot of weight on them, the will push back. They have that feature of twisting formard so that they are closer to your head. The screws that hold the center console have come loose on my twice now. overall, they are descent for the price.

thanx a lot. its great to have input from someone with experience.

now, do your seats feature the middle seat (not back support) cushion that folds forward to reveal a 'storage' compartment, or did you buy it before then, cuz i know i didnt notice the containment of that feature in the articles until the last couple years or so.
if you did have the compartment i was wondering how big it is and what exactly can be stored (six-pack, 40 oz., tall cans) lol
one last question, you said overall its a decent price, overall would you reccomment the leather or the velour?

What length of column did you get? I believe they offer them in 28, 30 and 32-inches. I need a little bit more room between my gut and the steering wheel, not that losing 30-lbs didn't help. I just want to shorten the space between the dash and back of the steering wheel AND I have no idea what length to use to do that.

You truck looks nice, even disassembled. I plan to tear mine down, starting in the spring.

I bought the seats through a store. I don't remember which one. It was one that advertises in truckin. I just called all the places that advertised in there and went with the cheaper one. I will take some pics of the interior today and post them.
