Re: Dana 44 Caliper plates
im working on 71 chevy blazer fornt dana 44 axle. i got the passenger side all mounted with caliper rotor hub wheel and ready to roll. the driver side caliper plate is not letting the caliper mount. both the top and bottom of the plate rubs with the inside of wheel-rim. im thinking its going to be bent. i just wanted to make sure they were interchangeable before i started to grind or mess with.
if i go to bone yard what kind of truck and year can i look for to get a caliper plate that fits my blazer? |

Re: Dana 44 Caliper plates
Any 72-87 Chevy/GMC Dana 44/10 bolt will work as long as it's the same lug pattern and disc.

Re: Dana 44 Caliper plates
Turns out their is more than just one design. I was able to find some brackets at the bone yard got them 2 for $20 the guy had them taken off already what a score!!!.They looked correct but when i installed it i noticed they have a little hump groove by the top and bottom caliper mounting bolt.and my originals do not. well turns out that hump deal pushes the caliper out towards the wheel, this causes the inner brake pad to not fit in between the rotor and the caliper. there is just no way. I know its beeing installed correctly because the passenger side is all done and rolling with my "in good shape original bracket".
there are some numbers behind each bracket and im thinking thats the I.D or part # ? My correct bracket has #35692 Incorrect bracket has#35700 These #s are located next to the caliper mounting holes.(on bracket) Im still searching for correct brackets. Any info welcome thanks guys! |
