Wood looks great when all slicked out on the right truck. I use my truck beds to haul all kinds of crap, so a coated flat or stock corrugate steel floor gets my vote.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I have got to agree with 71stepside LOL but when it comes to truck beds I voted wood. I assume you are talking about the floor how about heather in the bed of a 6772 stepside!!!!!

I have steel in the '69, and wood in the '72 and in the '68. I really don't have a preference. Steel is nice and sturdy, but the wood looks nice.

If I was making a trailer queen, I'd definately go with wood, but for a daily driver, I don't have a preference.

My truck bed is made of steel, and it has 30 years of light work under its belt, and looks pretty decent . But, when i restore this truck in the very distant future, i would like to put a wood bed kit in it b/c i think they look SWEET!

On a trailer queen-wood with a flowmaster so close it catches the wood on fire. Actually i sell any wood beds and prefer to keep metal.AZ sun isnt nice to wood.neither is a old greasy 454 and T400,leaking in the back.I like both obviously but for something thats used as a truck Metal

No preference as long as it has a 67-72 chevy or GMC wrapped around it!

I like my wood bed. Things don't slip around like metal or plastic bed liners. I also like to be able to nail down loads when I carry them, I normally keep loose 2x4's in the bed with some 16penny nails to lock the load down. It is kind of tough with metal to nail things down or carrier a welder to spot them in place.

I'll have to say wood too.
I have the steel floor in the GMC and have not liked it since day one.

I'd have to vote for steel, just because they're better cut out for hauling stuff. But if I had the $ and a truck I didn't plan on using as a daily driver or ever doing any heavy hauling with, I would put in a wood bed.

My dad has a 66 stepside short bed with a plywood floor that's over 10 years old with not rot and well preserved with gallons of spilled oil. I would use heavy plywood if I had a side step. When he rebuilds the truck again we're putting in a floor with alternating strips of hardwood without metal strips and HIGH GLOSS!
