front axle swap
i have a 67' k10 and i am looking to put a front axle out of a mid to late 70's chev pikup with disk brakes and was wondering if the front axels where the same length thanks

Yep. Only thing you might need to address is the brake lines - the ends are sometimes different. You can use adapters to mate the newer axle's rubber lines to your hard line or make a new set of hard lines like I did.
I see you have a 67 - that has the closed knuckle axle so you'll want the newer axle's steering arm since your steering arm is different.

Are you getting the axle from a donor truck? If so and if it has power steering, I'd go ahead and grab those related parts if you are thinking of adding power steering at some point. Thanks for the compliments on my truck - it is currently transfer case-less - grrr.

i put one in my 68 from an 82...
check the gearing get the u-bolt plates too steering arm drag link from steering arm to PS I am doing a sway bar as well since it hook up to the u-bolt plates...

Don’t forget to change the brake proportioning valve and master cylinder when you convert to front disk brakes.
$100 is a good score for a 4x4 Suburban. Regardless of condition it is worth more than that in scrap weight.
