Original Spare Tire?
I was wondering if this is the original spare. It's a Dunlop and says Gold Seal "78" H78-15LT Belted Wide Tread on it. The original window sticker that I have says G-78-15-B On-Off road BB tires. I thought it was also interesting that my Blazer sold new for $4368 that seems pretty spendy for 1972. The tire was serviced at one time because the original owners name is written on it with a yellow grease pencil.

Re: Original Spare Tire?
looks original. You probably should replace it if your going to use it though. The rubber is probably shot.

Re: Original Spare Tire?
Don't know if Blazers were different than Jimmys. but I ordered mine with on & off the road tires. Came in with Plain old H 78X15 Goodyear snow tires, with real narrow rims you couldn't put a decient tire on. kicked myself for even oredering them, as they got junked a couple months later anyway. Not a lot to choose from back then, but about the best was an 11 X15 Armstrong Tru Trak. I paid 4700.00 for mine, but took a lot of bickering, so depending on options your price sounds about right.

Re: Original Spare Tire?
My Dad bought a new Sierra Grande GMC in 72 for 4500. so price sounds correct and back then a 12x16.5 were huge tires on the 3/4 tons
