Steering Column Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi guys! I have a 85 GMC 4x4 that has a worn column. My question is are these columns 2wd and 4wd specific or do they all interchange?

secondary shaft for a 4wd has a different shaft. when i went to a tilt I upgraded to the stouter 4wd piece.
