2 of my "babies" have left the nest

Well, its happened - I got that "offer you can't refuse" . . . a motorcycle broker showed up at the farm and enticed me to sell two of my "toys", so I guess I'll have to revise my profile and my avatar - The Harley and the Triumph have sold to an annonymous buyer in California. A bittersweet day here at the farm - I guess I've made the right decision, but these two girls have been part of the family for a couple of decades, so it was a difficult decision. The same broker was "sniffing" at my '50 Plymouth, so it may be next . . . guess I'll have to do some Christmas shopping to replenish my collection

I guess I can always use the money to finish my restoration projects on the two trucks.

Damn, you're without a bike now? The Triumph looks sweet, my dad had a few of those when I was younger.

Yes - I'm completely without a bike right now. These were the last 2 of my collection of 15 British & American bikes (long story) Oh well . . . all good things come to an end. I'm assuming they got a good home.

Thanks for the compliment! I bought the Harley in 1980 from the original owner . . . it had 4700 miles on it, and ALL the original parts. The old Dunlop tires were cracked pretty badly from all the years of sitting in dry storage, and the generator shot craps shortly after I put it on the road - I put a new 12v generator on it & rode it up till this past summer. When it sold it had 11,000 miles on it. Other than the legendary "scraped to the bone" shin from a kickstart gone awry, we got along pretty well together
