c notch question
okay I am looking at the 3/5 drop kit from Western Chassis and am just curious. Is it absolutely necessary to notch the frame with the 5" flip kit? They sell a 3/5 deluxe kit that includes the c-notch kit for 279.95, or the econo kit for 209.95. Price is not my worry I just need to know if I HAVE to or Highly recommended that i "C" the frame Thanks in advanced!

you can go with out a notch and short bump stops, but I would get a c-notch more axle clearance, and it will allow you to go lower

would i be better off in the long run by going with a spindle+spring combo for the front?

Unless your springs and/or shocks are worn out. It probably won't bottom out unless you haul more than a couple 2x4 and some plywood or you want to tow something but the difference in price is only $70. Buy the kit with the c-notch, use the truck for awhile without the notch installed, if you don't need it I'll buy it from you.

I have yet to drive with my cnotch on but it looks like if you plan on towing anything you will need it for clearance.

the most i would ever have in it is my Honda TRX400EX and thats like maybe 3-4 times a summer to go to the dam and ride. but no towing i don't even have a bumper for a ball. (roll pan)

i would go with the notch... i dont know where you live but if you hit one good pothole your looking at alot of shattered teeth... its better off in the long run f you notch it now and dont have to worry about it
