Mini Starter?

Hey guys. Im new to the board and need a little help. I need to replace the starter on my truck and would really like a gear reduction mini starter. My starter bolts to the bellhousing and Im told they dont make a mini starter that will work. Any one else have the same problem? The heat from the headers keeps making these regular starters crap out.

Re: Mini Starter?

Thanks Dr. I realized I screwed up and put it in the wrong place but I think I missed my chance to move it.

Re: Mini Starter?

i believe that your block should still have the threaded holes in it for the block mount starter. i'm also asuming that you have a four speed. so as long as you know the tooth count on the flywheel you should be able to put a mini starter on.

I don't know about replacement but I do know that the mini starter I put on the White Truck cured my hot start problems....

Re: Mini Starter?

i think thats the brand my speed shop carries and they dont have a mini for my app. I need to get back under and look but i think the bellhousing/headers are blocking the holes that would allow me to bolt a mini to the block.
