I don't think you would have to modify the frame, but I'm pretty sure you would have to mod the wheel tub area on the inside of the bed.

Modify to make tubs but other than that im pretty sure its only the rear end you have to modify.

you can run a 15 or 16 tire with that wheel.

Re: 20x14 rear rim

I'm planning on going with a 29x18x20 M/T sportsman S/R on a 20x15 rim with about 7+ inches of drop. I know That I'll be realy close with the frame and may have to trim a nipple hair out of the frame. It's also going to be close to the inside of the fender as I'm having to basically square them out. My rims will be at about 9" backspacing on my stock 12 bolt, with the 4.5 that your talking will deffinatly need a norrowed rearend.

Re: 20x14 rear rim

I was planning on this exact setup on my '70 before I decided to do IRS. They will fit without cutting the frame, but you will need to remove the bumpstops and mounting brackets.

You will have to narrow the axle 5" per side/10" total. The trailing arms will be a tight fit, but will fit inside the wheel hoops.

The bed will need to be tubbed to the rails- about 6". They are easy to build out of your stockers plus an extra set.

Mickey Thompson S/R s are a good fit. There is a 29/16-20 and a 31-18/20 that should work, but the 18" wide tire will be dangerously close to the framerails and bedsides...
