Rare 76 blazer?

I just picked up an original running driving 76 Blazer for $400. Now, it is a little rusty but I needed a 4x4 and I thought that this was somewhat rare in the fact that it is a stick shift. When I saw the option sheet I was extremely happy to see that it also has a locker. Are any of the other options rare?

Re: Rare 76 blazer?

Used my CorelDRAW program to crop it, increase the contrast & intensity, and blow it up. Might help a bit....

Of course, one of my favorite Blazer options was the "16T5 Chalet Camper Packag" (as it reads on my '77 - or "Camper Conver" on '76s? See http://blazerchalet.com/rposheet.jpg)

Re: Rare 76 blazer?

Sorry about the picture, I made it larger, so hopefully its easier to read. More info on the truck: 85,000 miles, I purchased it from the original owner who special ordered it. It had not left his garage since 1985. The only things not original to the truck are the tires and the plow. (I just removed the shocks yesterday and all of the brakes are going out today). I just thought that 4 speed blazers were rare because no one that I have talked to has ever seen one.

Re: Rare 76 blazer?

I thought '76 models still had the full removeable hardtop instead of the half shell.

Re: Rare 76 blazer?

Factory option 1YG2 - wood grained exterior , in all my time in blazers I have not actually seen one , so I guess maybe a very rare option .

Re: Rare 76 blazer?

I do plan on fixing it up and trying to keep it correct, but I don't think that option will survive the repaint.

cool blazer. I see tons of rust. That is one nice thing about AZ, no RUST; but you trade that for 122 degree heat.

A guy up the street from me has one. he had it removed for body work though. I think all it was was woodgrain contact paper...

Re: Rare 76 blazer?

I wouldnt say its tremendously rare, (except for the fact that 30 year old blazers aren't that common anymore on the streets) but the lockers are cool --- looks like a fun rig. I dont see too many 4 speeds where i live either
