...you know that little junction terminal by the battery, on the right fender?

Well, if you do, then you are aware that there is a wire to the battery and one from the terminal to the alternator, right?

My truck started to die when I let off of the gas. It would start right back up. Next time I let off of the gas, it would die. This process was repeated until I got to work, two weeks ago.

I had a new lighting harness that I had installed a couple of years ago. I had a new ignition harness that I was waiting to install, and thought that replacing the ignition harness was a good idea. So, I had it done.

Truck would not even crank! Lights wouldn't work. Nothing. It took another expert to find that the terminal on the fender had a loose connection. I guess that letting off of the gas caused the engine to "torque" and tug on the wire which broke the connection and caused the engine to die.

So, make sure that yours is tight. It might save you from some headaches.

You are a little late for me ChevLoRay, the other day my truck died on me at a stop light in rush hour and took me a good while to find out this loose conection, not counting that I had to push my truck by myself out to the media

That is a very important connection. EVERYTHING electrical on your truck is powered through that terminal, except for the starter motor when cranking the engine. If you have any doubts about it, disconnect your neg. battery cable, then take all of the wires loose from that lug, clean the lug and all of the ring terminals with some fine sandpaper, and put it back together making sure that everything is seated, and the nut is tight. This can avoid / solve all kinds of electrical woes.

I don't know whether to tighten my terminal or not. Afraid the torque of my 250 will rip off the fender if I did! Seriously,thanks for the advice. Got a clutch to change already this weekend and I'll check this item also.

I got my 68 because of that terminal!!!! $150....because he couldn't figure out why it just went dead!
