Vin #'s

Are there any Vin #'s located on the frame that match the cab? I was wondering if there was anyway to tell if someone did a cab swap? I guess the doors and cab by the doors are the only place the Vin #'s are located on the cab?

On the top of the left frame rail by the steering box.
It may be very "faint", & hard to read.

Re: Vin #'s

There should be a portion of the VIN, on the driver's side frame rail. It will be somewhere on the top of the chassis, nearer to the firewall. On my truck, it was the last six (or so) digits of the VIN. It's just something that lets you know that the cab and the chassis were a unit at one time....It won't be easy to find/see with the engine in place and the inner fenders on it. Doesn't mean it can't be found....it is a lot easier with all of that sheet metal out of the way.
