68 Conversion?

So I've got a 69 SWB I'm fixing up and thinking of putting on a 67/68 'front end' - I just like the grill better.

Sorry to offend any purist but the truck is so far from stock, at this point I'm just building what I like.

Anyway, I know its the hood, fenders, rad support and grill but am I missing anything? Cowl, inner fenders etc all the same? Does it all bolt/line up?

There's a 68 front clip locally I'm going to look at but has anyone bought fender/hood/grill from GMC Pauls?

How's the fit/alignment?

Any opinions on best way to go much appreciated (aftermarket or original?)

Thanks guys!

Mike

You'll be better off buying an original front clip. I think you have it covered. Pretty sure the cowl will be the same.

Re: 68 Conversion?

All I can see you have left out is the gravel shield that goes on the bottom of the radiator support. There is also the issue of what radiator support bushings to use, some vendors catalogs show the same bushings for 67-72. Some show different ones for 67-68 and 69-72. Maybe someone can clear up this for us.

Re: 68 Conversion?

Thanks Guys... appreciate the info!

Hopefully this 68 clip is worthwhile... didn't even think about the gravel guard.

Thanks again
