Radiator Hose Question

1. I have a blazer with air, heater hose goes to the water pump. No hole in radiator for the hose. I think after market 4-core radiator

2. I have a pickup with air, heater hose goes to the radiator. There's a plug in the water pump where hose would go. gm 4-core Harrison's

Can anyone tell me why this is or if one way is correct for a 71 air pickup. Thanks

Re: Radiator Hose Question

My son's 71 with AC and automatic transmission has the hose routing to the radiator.

Here is a picture out out of the Assembly Manual showing the various hose routings.

Re: Radiator Hose Question

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. I think the aftermarket radiator just didn't have the outlet on the radiator so they ran it to the water pump.
