Re: side marker lights
I think working side markers were an option that year and went standard in 1970.

Re: side marker lights
that is correct. Optional in 68 and 69, till 70 when they became base equipment.

Re: side marker lights
My '69 side marker lights aren't wired up either . Doesn't even have a cig lighter . Just a hole with a black plug . It does have an AM radio . Kinda strange , huh ?

Re: side marker lights
Our 68 is like that, no lights. Those marker lights are unique since they do not have a hole for the bulb. If you decide to put lighted ones in there, hang on to those lights, I think they could be worth some $$$ as all the reproduction markers are setup for light bulbs.

Re: side marker lights
My 69 is a Custom and it didnt come with them. I bought repo side markers with the chrome trim and 4-194 pigtails from GM. Tapped into the harness front and back and they look great. Cant belive I ran the truck for 22 years without. Really finishes it off nicely. I cant tell you how many nights sitting at a gathering and someone says, Hey your lights are burned out

Re: side marker lights
They look so much better when the are lit up. Mine don't have lights, but we got a set off of my 89 Cavalier derby car and my brother is going to hook them up for me.

Re: side marker lights
My truck has sockets for the peanut bulbs, but no holes in the side.
Probably will end up just sinking a LED in. |
