How, what, help on stance.

I installed the Western Chassis 2" front drop spindles and the Western Chassis 4" drop shackle kit in the rear. I like it but I thought my truck would sit level. It still has a slight rake to it or sits a little higher in the back. Is this the way it should be or do I need to drop a leaf out? Anybody experience this? My truck is the 87' SWB Silverado. Thanks.

Re: How, what, help on stance.

1. I thought WC spindles were 2.5".

2. I have never heard of a 4' shackle kit...99% of 4" rear drops are made up of shackles and hangers...each giving you approx 2" alone.

Can you elaborate on these, and let us know exactly what drop parts you put on...we'll be able to help you more from there.

Re: How, what, help on stance.

I installed the Western Chassis 2.5" - 4" deluxe drop kit. This included the "2". spindles and the 3-4" adjustable shackles/hanger kit. Bought them from Sport Truck Direct.

Re: How, what, help on stance.

OK, that makes more sense.

To get more rear drop all you can really do is remove leafs or get some drop leafs.

This is why most folks go with a flip kit. I initially did a shackle/hanger kit...then wanted to go lower, so I did a flip.

Can you post pics for reference? I would prefer a rake just in case you need to haul something heavy... I also like the look of slight rake, but that's just me.

Like bigblock said try removing the helper leaf. It will give you almost another inch

Re: How, what, help on stance.

What size tires do you have front and rear? If they are not the same height, it coild cause a small rake. But most likely you will need to remove a leaf, or leave it alone. Anything else is going to drop the rear quite a bit more.

Re: How, what, help on stance.

if you like the stance int he rear better then the front you could get a .5 inch spacer for your spring and that would help it out also..

Re: How, what, help on stance.

First of all

Second, what rear springs do you have... light duty or heavy duty? How many leaves in them?

And third, did you take measurements before and after the drop to see what it really is?

That url request is for images stored on line. Click on the "Go Advanced button below the dialog box and scroll down. You will see a button that says "manage attachments". Click that and browse your computer files for your pics. Upload those and submit....

Re: How, what, help on stance.

a slight rake helps you during launch to prevent your front end form lifting too much.. so it's mreo benificial then detrimental..
a small rake is alwasy good in my opinion

Re: How, what, help on stance.

i think it looks great just like it is. i am going to rop mine later. but i still want that slight rack on it like that. i would leaveit alone. but thats me. but i was going to go with a biggerdrop then that. but the flip would solve your solution but you would probably have to put some stock stuff back on.

Looks great, that's a nice truck! If it were mine I'd go 1" lower and keep the rake
