Instrument Cluster Wiring Harness Question???

I'm wiring in my Autometer Gauges and I got the Color Wiring Diagram from this site but I have a question...

What are these wires for??

-TERMINAL BY BATTERY (black wire)
-FUEL GAUGE as opposed to the FUEL GAUSE FEED
-HEATER LAMP

Can I tap my Volts gauge into the ALTERNATOR wire (I dont have the paper in front of me but I think thats what it says on the diagram) or is there something difference because of AMPS vs. VOLTS???

Thanks!!

Im making progress....hopefully next time (or one of the next times) I post something up on here Ill be posting pictures and maybe video of my baby running!

Re: Instrument Cluster Wiring Harness Question???

The Black wire with the fuse holder is for the ampmeter. There is another one on the other side . The other one (without fuse in it) is a fuseable link. Goes from junction block beside battery to the POSITIVE terminal on the battery. It is a slow burn fuse. In the Picture the Red arrows point to the Black wire with the fuse holder for the ampmeter ..And The Blue Arrows point to the The other one without the fuse the fuseable link.. I also Circled where that wire is on the diagram hope this helps Hope this helps

Re: Instrument Cluster Wiring Harness Question???

That's for the ammeter in the trucks equipped with gauges and not idiot lights.
