Thumbs up Emblem resto

What have you guys used to restore your fender emblems? I was thinking of using sign painters paint or pinstripers paint. My emblems have good chrome but the color is faded. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Emblem resto

I used Dupli-Color, Scratch Fix, 2 in 1 factory match touch-up paint. For the Bowtie I used NG GM 505, Navy Blue Met and for the field I used NG GM 519, Victory Red. I don't know if these colors are considered "factory-correct", but they were the colors I liked.

Here are some before and after pictures of the '65 Chevy C10 body badges I freshened up.

I also freshened up the Custom cab sails, by using Universal Black, Dupli-Color for the script and 1/8" black pin-stripping for the horizontal embossed bars.

Re: Emblem resto

Guys,

I took a little different route. I want a mono-chrome look, well really a tri-chrome look, tan, chrome, and black. So I removed all the color. (It needed restoring anyway). I can always re-color it if I change my mind.

It took a fair amount of work with a tooth brush and paint remover.

Re: Emblem resto

Nice job TR65. I like that look, especially on your gray truck.

Re: Emblem resto

TR65:

After seeing your monochrome idea, I am going to do that on my '66 Chevy K10. It is all black with a charcoal accent between the factory body side molding. It also has chome inner fenders and some chrome accessories on the engine, so the monochrome body badges will carry on that theme on the outside of the truck. Thanks for sharing.
