What did you get done? 01/18

I went to Austin yesterday to pick up an arcade game that I need for a new account. Even after several "very" specific questions about condition, I found it was not exactly "as described". Drove off with an empty truck, thought about it and went back. I'll have to make it work out.

Today I spent time cleaning my garage a bit. I had a couple come over to look at my 84 Z-28. Looks like I have a buyer. They are short on cash, but I'm going to work with them to free up space in my garage.

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

Well, I spent yesterday thawing out my pipes under my house. It was 9 degrees here saturday morning. I spent the rest of Saturday hanging out with my wife and daughter. I spent Sunday doing the usual, church, taking my mom out to lunch and then back to church.

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

I finally got the front suspension on the blazer back together. Thorbecke Bros. tubular a-arms, shocks and upper shock mounts. ART Musclebar sway bar, ECE cross-drilled rotors, and Slam Specialties RE-7 bags. Pics of it on the ground coming soon.

Also,... member 72BlckButy and I went on road trip to member tcb-1's house and picked up a REALLY nice grille for my '69 swb. Doug had a few extra parts that he also threw in.
Great deal! Thanks, Doug.

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

got my 74 to go in gear so I took it up the street. It looked like 10 very rich 2 stroke dirt bikes went up the block. Got back and spent the rest of the day fixing a freeze plug (the one under the motor mount). Tomorrow, reassembly.

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

Spent the weekend at the Kumeu hot rod festival, the biggest in the southern hemisphere. My truck was there after getting a wheel alignment Saturday morning. There would have been two thousand display vehicles plus the usual trade stands and swap sites. Sorry no pics, my camera threw a rod and is toast, I took a chopper ride to get pics all for nothing.

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

On The Grinch.....
New water pump, T sat, Temp sensor, coolent........
Got it tagged insured and registered. And this flipping state sales taxed me on the NADA average retail. Anybody wanna guess what that is ???????????????????

Try $9,500 @ 5% sales tax is about 500.00!!!!!!! THIS IS CRIMINAL!!!!!! I am filing an appeal with the board of revinnue and sent an email to NADA informing them of there inacurate values. True my truck is not even close to there low retail standers but 4500.00 low retail give me a break!
So I got pretty upset at the MA dmv....

Topped off all fluids I have changed and drove threw the fresh powder we got today.

just glad the temps are back up in the 20's and I don't need to be working on the truck!

By the way N2, how long have you been contemplating selling the Z? I remember seeing a post with it a long while back. Black with purple scalips or something like that????

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

Friday I got my electric fan wired, Saturday I installed door jamb switches, dome, and courtesy lights, mounted the heater under the dash, and went to a pic and pull and picked out some nice bench seat from a 81-83, since the guy that's upholstering my seats is taking along time, and after I installed heater and cleaned the seat I installed it and the seat belts and drove my truck to parts store, first time since the middle of November, and today I installed some horns, and panted the top of the radiator support where the trim goes and reinstalled the trim

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

25 degrees outside on Saturday so I spent all day in the garage at 70 degrees. Had the TV on Speed channel (Barrett Jackson) and re-arranged my garage, cleaned, put away, and gathered junk for the trash man.

Took my Chevelle out for a little cruise on Sunday then took the family to Outback for dinner.

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

Started off Saturday by going to work for a couple of hours, picked up my oldest boy from a freinds house and got to see my buddies new MATCO Tools truck. He will start selling tools in February. Washed my DD truck for the first time in about 2 months, seems like every time I wanted to before it was supposed to rain the next day. Man, does that truck need some attension with a buffer. Sunday I reinstalled the rain cap on my chimney, I am too old to get up on the roof with 12/12 ptich...spent the rest of the day grillin and chillin and got to watch the NFC Championship game.

Re: What did you get done? 01/18

Fri. supper at mexican joint with wife and a friend..

Sat. slept in late, went shopping with said friend above and wife, then off to the supper followed by seeing Mall Cop. Ntoa bad movie but not as funny as I wanted it to be.

Sun. Slept even later, went over to friends, had supper at OCharley's and watched a movie back at her place with the wife. Best Friend's Girl w/ Kate Hudson and Dane Cook. Not a bad movie. Bit crude considering they thought they were making me watch a "chick flick". I thought it was funny that backfired on them.

Nothing truck related.

Cool Re: What did you get done? 01/18

Truck Related: Cruised through craigslist and ebay looking for a replacement transmission, got a '74 K20 rock crawler project last night for $400. They were building this up and lost interest. Has a 350, Edelbrock intake, big Holley carb, 4speed, 205 T/C, Dana 44 front axle with new 4" Ruff Country springs and brake lines, 4.11 ratios. Also has 3 headlights, hood, fried wiring harness, new wiring harness and that's about it.
I know, , but it was late when we got home. Actually, I haven't put up hardly any pics of my other truck. I'm slacking.

On Sunday we took the bed off of my truck...

On Monday, I took degreaser and the pressure washer to it. I put some black paint on it after it air-dried. Looks good enough for something you'll never see....
