WIW Craigslist tailgate find.... funny rust spot though..
Went on a parts run tonight... Found this very straight gate with only some scrapes from original paint, has one small dent on inside near bottom... It does have a funny rust spot that will need fixed... kinda off right below the handle on the outside and inside... I think it was a Blazer due to the top steel piece... Would be a perfect candidate for a handle relocation...
What's the guess on value? I'm gonna sell it or my other gate that was blasted....

$2-300?
I paid $250 or $300 for mine (I can't remember anymore). Pretty straight, very slight almost not noticeable bow, no dents, rust free.

Re: WIW Craigslist tailgate find.... funny rust spot though..
I will have to get you a pic of the one on the truck I am building for my Dad.
OEM Paint (White/Ochre) Tailgate out of Canada and it has even stranger rust near the handle (just below it)...won't be able to get a pic until I get home though... I have a replacement gate - but now that you mention it - it might be better to just relocate the handle on it since that is the only crappy part on it... **Edit** to actually answer your question - I would say $200-$250 is about right Last edited by lks dcvn; 01-20-2009 at 09:30 AM. |

BTW, the handle can be replaced. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water...

I noticed that replacements are $20 and I know that I can cut the rusted metal out and weld in some new pretty easily...
