Aftermarket Door Panels

Anybody used the aftermarket door panels? Im looking to get some new ones, and I would prefer GM pieces, but it seems 73-76 panels are hard to come by, especially in black. I might just use the paint for the time being, and still try to pick up some GM pieces when they pop up. How are the aftermarket pieces? Thanks

Re: Aftermarket Door Panels

I have the Silverado ones with the wood look. The aftermarket ones I saw said they could not reuse the stock trim pieces. That why I haven't bought any yet.

Yeah, I have the woodgrain too, but would be willing to get rid of it if I had to.

Re: Aftermarket Door Panels

You can always dye them black or look on ebay for good used ones.

Re: Aftermarket Door Panels

If you choose to dye or paint, there's a nice write up in the FAQ.

Oh, wait. Here it is.

Vinyl Dye

It is do-able. And looks good.

Yeah, I have that saved in case I go that route. Has nobody used the aftermarket panels? I really want to know what you think of them. Thanks

Re: Aftermarket Door Panels

dooce, he used the later ones on an early truck. That's possible, but all the holes aren't there so you have to drill them or live without.

But are they the correct 77-87(91) doors? I've seen so many of the trucks put together with such a mishmash of parts from different years. FWIW, I bought a set of those Palco door panels for my 79LB from Cheyenne Pickup Parts and they fit pretty decent--not as good as OEM, but still quite serviceable.

Re: Aftermarket Door Panels

I forgot to finish what I was typing, every one was talking about the 73-76 door panels, and for 77-80 panels you will need to add holes like mentioned also the door handles are different from 73-76, 77-80, and 81-86, 87-91 rv
