Re: cheap/easy lift kit

you could also make yourself a lift kit if you can find some longer u-bolts, and some kinda blocking...

hockey pucks?
we call that an alberta lift up here, though i wouldn't recomend it

Re: cheap/easy lift kit

You never use blocks in the front. The redneck way is a lot of add a leafs aka load levelers which will give you about a inch each.

Yes.

You can pick up a cheap lift from 4 wheel parts that they have in their house brand. 4" with shocks used to be around $300 or so, plus a raised steering arm. If you go to 6", you really need to look into more steering correction (raised steering arm and dropped drag link) to make it drive right, along with spacing the transfer case down, extending driveshafts, etc. If you are not doing much extreme off roading (where you will need a lot of articulation, etc.) you can get away with 35's on a 4" lift, with minor clearancing of teh fenders on the front. With the shorter wheelbase, I think you might like the 4" more, until you get used to how it drives. I have had both 4" and 6" lifts in Blazers, and prefer the 4" personally, but some of that may be that it is a little easier to do.

Re: cheap/easy lift kit

Get a rear shackle flip from DIY4x.com and some 56" rear springs from the JunkYard and that will give you 4" in the rear and a smoother ride and good flex. Then find soem 4" front springs and you are good to go. Best way would be to take your 52" springs from the rear and install them up front with DIY4x B-52 spring hangers, but that requires crossover steering conversion if I am not mistaken. Take a look at their website or call them and ask.

Re: cheap/easy lift kit

it drives muda great..
i could use a little love on teh steering not sure what one im gonna do... but it's in the works under the "eventually" category
it should be a skyjacker lift.. (should be) not entirley sure =-)
i put it on for the guy i bought the truck from a while before i bought the truck...
but with 6in or more i reccomend getting the T case Drop also.. it helps with the driveshaft alignment
i also have theose angled wedge blocks under my leafs so my axels dont bind...
hmm... 37 in procomp tires.. NOT CHEAP
and i installed cheap "little girl" steps so my friends and kids can get in..

Its a 6" Rough Country lift. It sits on 18" American racing wheels. The tires are 35-13.50-18 Toyo open country. I must say it rides pretty good. Not like a caddy but not like a bucket. Rough country is probally the cheapest suspension lift u can get. As for putting hockey pucks for a lift their HOCKEY PUCKS. Shall i say more. Blocks up front are also a no-no. You can fit up to a 38" tire with a 6" lift. Remember you always get what you pay for.
