I have a 67 truck,and put a 71 suspension on the front for the disc brakes. I kept the manual steering box but used the 71 relay rod w the 71 tie rods ect... my question is that the pitman arm is for manual steering and the relay rod is for pwr steering. do i need to use the relay rod from the 67 manual or is this possible to use?

There is not much info on that center link, & it has given a few of us headaches! at any rate, if you plan to run the manual box, you might try a center link for a 71(manual box).....I think that will mate to your 67 pitman. The tierods are different from 67- 70, vs 71-72(taper on the rod ends). Best of luck,crazyL

From what I have seen, the center links are not different from manual to power steering. It is the pitman arm that is different. You should have no problem using the '71 center link with either the power or manual steering. I believe the pitman arm is the same from '67-'72 for manual steering.

I ran my '70 with '85 disks and steering linkage (center link etc) with the '70's manual box and pitman arm for a few months while finding a pulley for the power steering box. And they are supposed use different pitman arms for manual steering.

I'm looking at my trusty Moog catalog, so will try to at least answer a couple items. The idler arm is K6096T (problem solver) for 67 thru 82 for both manual and power steering.

On the pitman arm, there is no part number listed for manual steering on 67-68, but lists K6131 for 68 power steering. It calls for this same number for 69-72 Power steering, then K6130 for manual steering on 69-72. 73-82 uses K6142 for manual and K6143 for power.

The catalog does not list a drag link or center link for any of these vehicles and I have no access to the industry's electronic cataloging.

Just be sure to check the taper/fit of the pitman into the center link.....crazyL

the center link doesnt but up against the pitman arm after I torqued the nut for it. does that mean I have to use the 67-68 manual center link? the center link is pretty close to the cross member also.
