Re: thinking bout bagging my truck
Not that it matters on the question but what year is your truck? Here is your issue with what you are asking, 20” wheels and say a 2” side wall tire, that grantees that your axle will never go closer then 12 in from the ground (radius of wheel + tire side wall)and your solid frame cannot pass through your solid axle… so if you want your rear frame on the ground you will need to figure the distance from the bottom of your frame to the inside of a notch needs to be equal or greater to the previous mentioned 12”.

Why not rethink the notch and cut it up.

Re: thinking bout bagging my truck
If you want to lay frame you should think about 4 linking the rear. You will need a step notch, a c notch will not get you there. Also you will need to do some mods to the front otherwise the first thing to touch the ground will be the a arms.

Re: thinking bout bagging my truck
Are you thinking about doing this yourself or having it done ???
If it were me I would loose the leaf springs & either go with a trailing arm set up or a 4-link |

Re: thinking bout bagging my truck
No, there is nothing wrong with leaf springs. It is a little easier to do the trailing arms, but I sure wouldn't "convert" your truck.

Re: thinking bout bagging my truck
Like N2TRUX said, leafs dont suck, its just easier without them
You just have to decide how much work you wanna put into it (if you build it yourself) or how much you wanna spend (if you have someone do it) but either way you are gonna have to spend money & it will take more time before you are rolling low If you just want it to be low, but not spend a bunch of time then I would stay away from laying frame... FAR away The rear is not the hard, or all that expensive part to get to lay frame, its the front, you have the problem of your cross-member & LCAs hitting the ground first, so either you have to buy a PorterBuilt DropMember, or mod the fire out of your stock cross-member, or Z the frame (the dropmember being the easiest & to me worth the money) Here is a thread with some different trucks in it that show about the lowest you can go without tons of work http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ht=stock+floor |
