HP estimate 406
Its a 400 + .030, forged dome pistons, solid lifter cam and lifters, the specs are, .560/.570 lift, .268/.270 @.050. It has 441 heads with some port work done, 1.94 intake, 1.60 exhaust, valves, 1.5 wide body roller rockers, stud girdles, double roller chain, hi volume oil pump, miledon pan w/ baffles, victor jr. 2 intake manifold, 750 carb, what do you guys think its putting out, compression is around 12.5 to 1

How much porting, and by who? Without any more info, I'd guess around 440-460.

Nice set up . Change the heads and it will be alot more . A 210 AFR wil do wonders for that combo .

Why so much compression for the street? You will not be able to run pump gas with this much compression. You definitly need more head than what you have. That 1.94 valve is restricting it for sure. Like hotrod 80 said, the AFR 210 heads will do wonders for your motor. IMO they are the best out of the box head you can buy for the money. The 400 has plenty of low end torque so you can run the victor and never know you lost anything down low on a motor like this.

I have it set up to run on e-85 so thats why it has the high compression

The E-85, will work fine, not as good for making power as methanol, but it is awesome to see some one thinking out of the box. Ported 441's are not bad, but that valve size is killing your combo. I agree with NXtruck, somewhere in the 460 hp range. Very close to a combo I ran forever mine had less compression, and was a blast to drive on the street.

Yea Im excited to see how it is on the street, and plus e-85 is cheap aound here and can be found at alomsot every gas station. My truck is just going to smell like corn! I actually bought the motor as it is now for 1000, it was complete minus carb, which there is a company around here that sells and converts e-85 carbs for around 650 dollars with tuning, so thats not a bad deal I dont think

now onto the transmission, how much of a torque convertor do you think I should run, the rear end has 3.73 gears, trans cooler also? its a th350 that is getting rebuilt

Street 22-2500 or drag 32-3600. Keep in mind depending on the torque output of your motor #s will vary. The vic intake won't really make power until around 2500 and your cam probably around the same or higher and get the biggest cooler you can fit.

I would lean towards a little looser convertor 3000 to 3200 I always run a trans temp gauge to watch the temp.

not meaning to be the 'doubter' as i agree with HP figures, but those heads are 76cc. what are those pistons to make 12.5 to 1. those piston'ratings' are based on a 64cc combustion chamber usually. crossy

yea thanks guys, it should be a run motor, all I really need to do is get the e-85 carb, new fuel pump and she should be good to go, unless Im forgetting something! Gonna get it to the dyno here in the next month or two

GOOD LORD Todd!!, you live right on top of 4 different refineries. Just run a siphon hose down the storm drain in front of your house and probably get hi-test for free

A machine shop can do that. Otherwise, it involves a level stand, a graduated pipette, and some liquid. My shop port-matched mine- some were bigger than others.

Do you have a company/grind number. I'd be curious to know what the intake closing point is. That would really determine dynamic compression and if it would be usable with pump gas.

I believe it is a crane cam, the guy I bought it from used it at the drag for three runs, he said it dynoed at 531 with e-85 in it
