Little bummed.

I havent posted in a while so i figured i would drop a line. I found some bad news yesterday while moving some parts around. I had taken some parts out of my garage and put them on my trailer under a tarp in the back yard a few months ago... The parts were the seat, both front and rear windows, some fiberglass fenders and what not.

Well, as i pulled back the tarp EVERYTHING was soaked. My seat and seat cover were soaked to the pad and metal. My front windshield was cracked RIGHT in the middle. This sets me back because i wasnt planning on doing anything with my seat or replacing the front window. Just bummed. Im sure you can imagine what a 38 year old seat smells like soaked in water for a few months... Im sure i will have to buy a new one, or get the foam replaced.

Anyone have any estimates on what a new windshield and a seat go for???

Re: Little bummed.

That is a bummer. I left the windows down on my truck one time, it rained all weekend. Febreeze was my friend for the next week.

Re: Little bummed.

I dont have a price, but I can tell you seat foam is very expensive. It might be worth you while to disassemble the seat and dry everything out. Wish I had a decent spare I could give you, I just dont have anything worth using right now....good luck.

Re: Little bummed.

A upholstery guy could set you up with some seat foam. I agree the replacement stuff the vendors sell is pricey.

Re: Little bummed.

You can buy a junk seat with decent foam for a fraction of replacement foam cost and simply re-cover.

Re: Little bummed.

Installed windshield in my area is about $220 for our trucks. Sorry about the bad luck.
