What kind of music do you listen to?

When I meet people, I always ask what kind of music do you listen to? The other question is What kind of car/truck do you drive? It helps to find common interest and sparks conversation. I usually ask who was your favorite artist/genre when you were younger? Who are you listening to right now in your cd/mp3 player? I'll start growing up my favorite genre was rock and heavy metal example: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zepplin, Motley Crue

Now I listen mostley to country and the same rock and roll. I am currently listening to Jamey Johnson. What about you? I know what kind of truck you have.

Re: What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to just about everything...depending on the mood I'm in. There are a few exceptions.... You won't find me listening to the Dixie Chicks or Green Day (two groups I absolutely loathe) and you most likely won't find me listening to 'Top 40 Pop' or newer 'gangsta rap'.... But you might just find me listening to everything else... Billy Holiday to Billy Idol, George Clinton to George Strait.... be it Heavy Metal, Country, Zydeco, Acid Rock, Swing, Funk, Punk, Oldies (seriously, who doesn't dig a little Buddy Holly now and then?) even some Big Band and Classical (so long as there aren't any people singing, while wearing viking hats....can't do opera)
Point is....you just never know what you might catch me listening to... In the Yukon (for the moment) I have Rob Zombie in the disc player, Linkin Park in the console, and the tuner is on Sirius radio's 'Prime Country'...

Re: What kind of music do you listen to?

I really listen to just about anything. If you name it, I've probably heard of it and if I've never heard of it I'll always take a listen to see if I like it.

Re: What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to a variety of stuff...grew up with country like Hank Jr & such. In high school liked the hair band stuff. My husband despised country when we got married & got me listening to heavy metal. Now I still like all that plus Blues and just getting into some Contemporary Christian like Third Day & such.
Thank goodness the radio in my DD has 18 presets w/ XM. It's kind of like the TV, I find myself flipping more than listening!
