What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

No road rash just need cleaned. Also wondering what a pair of steel wide wheels, see the one pic. I'm going to be selling these just trying to find our what they are worth before I price. They are on a 75 chevy truck but will fit 71's and 72's. Thanks Randy

Re: What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

Not sure what they're worth, but I'm very interested in those slots depending on the width (looking for 15x8"). What size tires are on them now?

Randy,
Those slots, I believe, were made by Appliance Wheel. with a bit of a neutral pH cleaner, they should clean up nice. no idea on price.

why can't those steelies be 6 lug?!!! those bring back memories of late 70's muscle cars....... got some Jensen triax's?!

Re: What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

in regards to the slots for some reason ansen sticks in my mind as a brand name.
worth- only what some one is willing to pay- if your buying only what your willing to pay, selling whats the minimum you'd take. answer one of those question will tell you what its worth ----minimum.

Re: What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

clay, 235/75/15 on them
tcb-1, Doug, I wish they were 6 lug I'd make it right with you
long69, I appreciate your advice, but its not like its the first time I've ever sold anything I used to be a vendor on here, I'm just curious what they are worth, I have not had a set of these since I was back in high school 25 years ago. I was hoping someone who has bought a set of these would give me an idea before I priced them
Thanks Randy

Re: What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

Before the economy got rough, the old slot mags would fetch a pretty penny around here. I had a set of indy slots 15x4, and 15x10 reverse off my 69 firebird, with a set of old bias mohawk front runners, and some old bias JC penney scat tracs all in NOS type condition, and they brought $350 at the local swap meet. As for wide steelies I had some I could not even give away, and finally sold them for 20 each, after sand blasting and a nice coat of rattle can gloss black.

Re: What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

There were several companies that made the slots. They go for what Bob said or more in nice finish.
The 5-lug 8x15s are worth as much as rallyes but way cooler.I`d like to get another set.
Here`s my set I sandblasted and had powdercoated:

Re: What are these old schoold mags worth and wide steelies?

I paid 200 for a set of 8 lug slots with 31" tires a couple months back. Of course, the 8 lug slots are a bit harder to find... 3 tires are usable, one is somewhat sketchy.

i stand corrected.

and sorry i didn't mean to give a meaningless answer, but using my formula i wouldn't take less than 50 a wheel for the slots and i wouldn't pay more than 100 so 400 for the set . that seem to be the about going rate from what i gather while google-ing to find what that "A" belongs to.

P.S. i would love a set only in 6 lug and a little deeper dish.

don't you guys know?! they cut the slots out of the tires to let the air out. you know that darn air weighs down everything!

actually the size and quantity of pieces gone leads me to believe someone made some exhaust hangers!

and those steelies look W I D E. 12"?

Hmmm. Thought they were inlet holes for an automatic inflation machine

I saw a set of slots like those go for about $350, two or three years back.

Joe, II think they are 8 but maybe 10's, like Doug said they are wide. I'll get them dismounted this week and get a measurement.
CG, I'll let you know what Joe decides

for the slots i'd take the tires off and take a few brillo pads to them to clean them up and depending on the sizes ask 150-200
