Kickdown bracket question

I am replacing a 307 with a 350 engine and when swapping kickdown bracket over I can't get the sliding part of the cable to reach the carb even with unlocking and pulling all adjustment out.(Turbo 350 transmission and Rochester Qjet).
Are the kickdown brackets for 307 and 350 different? I swapped the original throttle rod to a 71 type cable setup and bracket and cable for it fit.

The kickdown brackets differ from 2 brl to 4 brl carb......it sounds like you have the bracket for 2 brl setup.
