It's been opened in the springtime months for years (as far back as I can remember), cause the original owners were getting on in years (great people btw), and they said that trying to compete w/the indoor theaters was just too much.....especially combined w/cold weather and school sports.

They did recently sell it to the guy who owns the National Theater downtown though. And the land that it sits on is leased land that didn't go w/the purchase. I'm afraid that the owner of the land won't ever sell it and eventually it will be the doom of the Drive-in as we know it. At least for now, the land owner's not wanting to be the "bad guy" that caused the closing of the Drive-in......so it's useable for the time being I guess.

I remember some really nice "cold weather" drive-in movies from years past and wouldn't trade those memories for anything....of course that was in the 80's. When springtime arrives, we take the kids out there, back the truck into a slot, put the speaker over the edge of the bed and start pulling out the pillows/blankets for padding. Then we're ready to enjoy the evening show. The best thing about it now, is that I have two Thermacell units that help to repell the mosquitos from ruining our time out.

It's a fun time for our family!
