Someone talk me out of this.
Well i was looking at a parts truck a few weeks ago and was really tempted, simply by the fact i thought i would get it for 5 bills and it had what the seller told me were original bucket seats in it. I decided to pass on the grounds that i really have very little space to store a truck, my parents would probably kill me seeing as it would be the third truck to follow me home this year, and well it looked restorable in the pictures so i thought maybe i would leave it to someone who wants to restore it. Fast forward three weeks, my parents are going out of town next weekend, and the truck is still for sale. Someone please give me a reason not to buy it. I think I'm going to email and ask if they are buddy buckets or consoles, and maybe make the trek out there to look at it.
The truck is a 72' 3/4 ton running and driveable 350/350 nothing too exciting. They told me i could probably drive it home from their place if i so wanted because it was someones driver untill it made its way to a front end shop and the bill didn't get paid. |

Re: Someone talk me out of this.
looks like factory buckets in the picture, if they are it's well worth 500 bucks. look at it like this--you're buying a set of factory buckets and getting a FREE truck.

You've come to the wrong place to ask us to talk you out of something we love.
Good luck with your new truck.

Re: Someone talk me out of this.
buy it, strip it, scrap the rest (look at the size of the rear bumper) and store/sell the good pieces.
It should have buckets/console. Buddy buckets were 67/68 |

Re: Someone talk me out of this.
If you do buy this truck, and wish to part it, I am interested in those 8 lug rims for my 3/4 ton.

Re: Someone talk me out of this.
$500 Canadian? If so that's $406 US... You can get that price for the buckets and console!

Go ahead and buy it. Who cares if you have to live in one of the trucks cause your parents threw you out.

Thats all I need to hear, its always easier to beg forgiveness than to ask for permission. I see I got beat to that line but the premise in sound. Last edited by R.L.; 01-25-2009 at 02:56 PM. |

Re: Someone talk me out of this.
It's not the $$$ at all. And i didn't really want to be talked out if it at all. That would be like an AA meeting in a bar. If i can find a trailer or sort out the insurance for an in transit permit with my insurance person (extremely unhelpful lady). I will be bringing it home next satruday i kinda hope i can sort out the insurance because i miss driving my blue truck, and blasting home down an empty country road would be well worth the $500 the truck is.

X2 - you're preaching to the choir. But even with us there's a limit. I have two and my wife's not real happy about that. You're living at home and you want a third? I hope you have a big farmyard or something, otherwise, spare yourself the grief with your parents.

Re: Someone talk me out of this.
Too bad your 4000 KM away. I'd split the cost with you and let you keep the seats.
