Jay's 66 C-20
I'm new to the board, but have been lurking for a while. Yall have lots of good information here which really helped me decide what truck I wanted to get ahold of.
Found this 66 C-20 in pretty good shape; numbers matching on the driveline. Only major modification is the paint; a PO decided to paint over the ivory with a red. I'm slowly modifying/restoring the truck; it runs good right now, so no major overhaul planned in the near future. Re: Jay's 66 C-20
Nice truck. Did you find any rust?
Looking at your Photobucket photos did you spray your valve cover and then sand off the Chevrolet or was that tape? |

Re: Jay's 66 C-20
Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm sure Ill wear it out pretty quickly with a load of newbie questions.
I'm taking the project slowly, but thoroughly. Anything that comes off of the truck will only be put back together when it is perfect. Quote:
I'll have to brag on my valve covers. My original plan was to paint the entire thing then sand the "Chevrolet" off. It was suggested (half jokingly) that I put some grease on the logo to keep the paint from 'sticking to it.' Somehow, chapstick popped into my mind. It worked beautifully . It spread wonderfully across the metal, and all of the wax and paint wiped off easily. The tape was me being anal retentive trying to fix a little spot. The tape made it worse. j |
