4wd to 2wd conversion
I know it can be done, but how do you convert a 4wd truck to 2wd?
Is there a kit you can buy? Where? How much? and by the way how many gallons does the stock gas tank on a 87' c-10 hold? |

Re: 4wd to 2wd conversion
i think you should find a 2wd frame and swap your parts over. I'm not sure if anyone makes a kit to do the swap. I did 2wd to 4wd years ago and just switched frames.

Re: 4wd to 2wd conversion
You will need all the rear hangers. The shackle end, the leaf spring end, and the bump stops(unless you are lowering it). You will also need the whole front sub-frame wth the suspension and motor mounts that go from the frame to the x-member. also there is a x-member in front of the suspension x-member that you will need to get as well that holds the brake proportioning block. I just got all of the brackets for the rear yesterday from the pull-a-part for $28. You can also get the longer 2wd springs(some came with 56" vs the 52" on the 4wd) if you want a smoother ride. A cordless sawzall will be ur friend if you get parts from the pul-a-parts.
